ISO images (really, Alcohol 120% files) of the Dactyl Nightmare SP CD.  This was used in Virtuality 2000SU units for an early VR arcade game system. Requires a 486+, MS-DOS, and a custom video card... There are a few programs on this CD: the DACC.EXE "Dactyl Nightmare Camera", the SP.EXE "SUPERVISORY PROGRAM" and the ETS.EXE "ENGINEERING TEST SYSTEM". Notably absent is DAC.EXE, which would be the main Dactyl Nightmare SP game.  There's a reason for this:...

This is a scan of the box which once contained an Intel SatisFAXtion Modem/200.  It was too big to fit on my scanner, so I scanned in parts, and then made a (poor) attempt at stitching (stitched.png). Here's some press release talking about the modem. The SatisFAXtion Modem/200 Intel's SatisFAXtion Modem/200, a more powerful successor to the SatisFAXtion board, is a two-thirds length internal faxmodem that supports fax sending and receiving at 9600bps at a suggested list price of $369 (U.S.)....

This is a voice set for Garmin GPS devices, which will allow the device to speak directions as the announcer from 1999 arcade hit "Crazy Taxi".  Audio clips were taken directly from the data files of the PC version, though some were trimmed in Audacity to make the sentences more coherent. Installation: Download the "Crazy Taxi - Announcer.vpm" file. Attach your GPS to PC via USB, then copy the .vpm to the device under \Garmin\Voice. While it would have been fun to do the...

This video provides a 5-minute introduction to carbon's role in climate change.  The purpose is to educate the public on carbon dioxide - a greenhouse gas - and understand how it is released into the atmosphere.  The video also discusses some ways in which carbon's effect on climate might be reduced or reversed. This upload consists of both the presentation itself, and a WMV rendering at 720p. The presentation and audio are public domain.  All art was taken from public domain sources. The...

Three images which should help any Casio WK-1500 owner get off the ground.  A list of instruments (normally printed on the music stand, but if yours is missing, this will be helpful).  Two button references describing how to actually use the instrument. If you can't find the manual, this is the next best thing.

Formed during a particularly boring high school science class in early 2002, ornoPay usicMay was an electronic music group vying for the official title of “Worst Musicians of All Time”. Nearly all of their songs are unlistenable noise. Their track DJ With the Longest Sword is a cover of Sons of Rurik’s Warrior With the Longest Sword, a song about viking warriors who traveled through time from the year 1300 A.D. to attack Osama bin Laden. This album contains the B sides and other...

In high school some friends and I started a band. We were an electronica group out of necessity: though each member had some ability to play real instruments, we had no means to record them. So we used the only tools we had - free trackers, buggy MIDI composers, low-quality samples, anything that let us make noise without spending money. The entire project was a joke, of course. None of us really knew anything about music theory or composition, and nobody really cared to learn. The most...

Lord help me, I’m releasing an album. When I was in late high school / early college, I wanted to make electronic music.  I didn’t have gear or experience.  My knowledge of music theory was patchy: I am a classically trained violinist, but knew almost nothing about chords.  What I did find and manage to use was Buzz Machines.  Sort of a tracker on steroids, it’s a very customizable software DAW with “machines” as plugins to be synthesizers, samplers, effects (reverb, EQ, volume,...

.. From the icey waters of NORWAY, come SONS OF RURIK, perhaps the toughest and most manly of HEAVY METAL. We sailed here from NORWAY, TO GET YOU!!!!! We have a flying timeship, which enables us to travel back in time, and help our father, RURIK on his conquests. Last time we went back in time, we brought popcorn, and lighters. The primitive minds of the peasants were completely in awe of our "magic poppers" and our "fire sticks". Little did they know, we were from THE...
